Tony Sandoval - KE0GXN
I enlisted in the United States Air Force on December 6, 1994, graduated from the Security Police Academy and was assigned to the 305th Security Police Squadron at McGuire AFB, New Jersey as a Law Enforcement Specialist. I served primarily as an entry controller and base patrolman my first 3 years serving and protecting my fellow McGuire airmen. In 1997, the law enforcement and security career fields were merged forming what is now known as the Security Forces career field. At that time I began performing flight-line security duties as well. During my enlistment I deployed to Egypt and Kuwait, with the latter being attached to the newly formed 820th Security Forces Group with which I deployed to Ali Al Salem Air Base in 1997. We were the first Air Force personnel to set foot on Ali Al Salem and we provided force protection for all follow-on personnel for the first 4 months. Ali Al Salem is located approximately 23 miles from the Iraq border and was established as a forward tactical base for Operation Southern Watch.
I met my one and only love, Carisa just prior to deploying to Kuwait in 1997. We married and we have one son and two daughters together. I was honorably discharged from active service on December 7, 1998. In 1999 I began my civilian law enforcement career as a police officer in Oklahoma. In 2004 we relocated to the State of Missouri were I continue serving in law enforcement and as I like to say living the dream! We currently reside in the Maple Leaf City of Carthage, Missouri.
